the smart choice for your baby's skin - organic baby skin care

Treating your infant with organic baby skin care products will greatly contribute the overall comfort and health of your little one in general. After all, the skin the largest organ of the body. And nothing is more precious than your baby’s skin.

organic baby skin care

Taking some time to look into organic baby skin care products and cleaning techniques is well worth your time. And if you don’t have the time? Hopefully by sharing with you what I have found will take some of the guess work out of it for you.

Many parents assume that cleaning a baby’s skin often is important. They want to make sure their baby is free of bacteria and toxins. But they fail to consider the toxins that many non-organic products introduce.

Studies show that ¾ of babies suffer from rashes within the first few months after they are born, and that the same products that claim to clean and moisturize the skin are often the contributing factors. Add to this that an infants skin absorbs better than adult skin, and you can begin to see the scope of the problems caused by chemicals in typical baby skin care products.

One of the smartest choices you can make for your baby’s skin is to avoid “drug store” baby products. Instead, make a conscious decision to go with organic baby skin care products.

Many parents also clean their baby’s skin too often.aubrey natural baby soap

Most newborns are bathed 4-5 times a week, and are shampooed about every other day. Contrary to what may seem like common sense, this isn’t necessary. A baby’s skin is slower to mature and doesn’t need to be cleaned as often as adult skin. During the first year, limit most bathing to warm water only; occasionally adding a little organic natural baby soap, such as Aubrey Organics Natural Baby Bath Soap.  I recommend the full Aubrey skin care line for both babies and adults.

After bathing with soap, you will want to replace the natural oils in your baby’s skin with a soothing lotion or oil, such as
this one, again from Aubrey,
that restores natural moisture balance and soothes babies' skin with evening primrose and organic aloe.
